The “Something Psycho This Way Comes” page is up in the Psychosix Section. Most of the Something Psycho Comics were done by Fritters. I put together the last one in attempt to cheer her up once.
I realized that the stories I have been asking people to vote on have not either been on the front page of the site. and I have not had any votes for this read-on. I decided myself go with the newer version, and to include a popcorn fight later in the story instead. so here it is:
Prologue
A tall handsome man walked slowly around the pool table, analyzing the options, He moved his grey bangs out of his chocolate eyes and back over his ear with his otherwise hazel hair. A small grid formed in his mind as he judged the necessary power and angle to make the shot. He inched the cue ball along the break line, finding the optimal spot he began to move his cue-stick into position.
“Will you hurry up already?” Another man with shorter coffee-brown hair cried, the silence was starting to get to him. He was sitting at a stool near the table itching for his turn at the table.
“Just a second,” Ætolus, the first man, murmured and fired the cue into the racked set. All 15 balls spread out like pinballs, ricocheting off of everything, including the wristwatch of an elfish red-headed lady standing next to the table, but miraculously all the balls sank, excluding the cue-ball, which just spun on its axis in the middle of the table.
“I don’t believe it!” Jay, the second man, gasped. “How’d he??”
“Believe it.” Robyn, the lady chuckled.
“That’s what you get for challenging a cyber-entity to a game of pool,” Talon, a baseball capped jean covered man, pulled himself magically out of the corner pocket of the pool table.
“Huh?” Fred was still getting used to all the weird stuff surrounding this group.
“Don’t think about it, it hurt’s less that way.” Nikki, a second, identical Red-head, tossed out from a stool nearby.
“Hey! That’s my line!” Talon complained.
“Alright. This time it’s Æt and I on a team!” Jay challenged, thinking he had things figured out.
“Robyn, your break,” Riley, a sandy-blond lady, declared with a smirk from across the pool table where she sat at one of the dining tables. Ætolus racked the balls and watched as Robyn randomly dropped the cue ball and smacked it with all her strength.
The 1 ball flew off the table leaving the rest untouched. It flew past Riley’s head, around her head and back onto the table. It smacked itself into the rest of the balls which immediately proceeded to sink themselves.
Ætolus chuckled, and looked at the baffled Jay. “I give up!” He declared, and slumped into a nearby chair “I just can’t win!”
“Cheer up buddy,” Nikki stated and passed him a beer.
“If it’s any consolation, nobody has been able to beat those two, individually or paired.” Fritters, a taller ginger-haired lady, wandered over with her own drink.
“Can I play?” Talon asked.
“Sure, boys versus girls, You and Racer, vs. Charon and Raewyn.” Æt tossed the cue to Talon, who looked as the others organized themselves for the game.
Prince Ætolus picked up his root beer, and leaned against the wall close to his girl, Ami. Robyn, in turn, sought out the arms of Duncan, her beau.
“All this chaos,” Duncan muttered.
“Such is life” Fritters responded.
“Is it normally this dead at this hour?” Jay asked Robyn concerning her Bar and Grill.
“Pretty much, almost all the regulars are here right now,” she smiled wryly.
Talon stared intently at his pool balls, and aimed and fired. The cue ball flew off the table, ricocheted off two walls, and flew past Fritter’s head and behind the group as everyone dove for cover. WHAP! “Damn it Talon! You knocked out the prince!” A deep voice came from the doorway. Everyone spun around to see who had spoken.
Standing in the doorway was a well-muscled asian man wearing a fedora and trench coat. Beside him lay a thin unconscious boy.
“Dan?” Æt stood and dusted himself off.
“Long time no see, Your Highness!” Dan stated the last bit with sarcasm and tipped his hat.
Before Ætolus could say more, Robyn burst passed him. “I can’t believe that YOU of all people have the nerve to show your face in my place!” She fumed, “after what you did last time I saw you, I should…” Nikki and Ætolus dragged her back covering her mouth.
“She still bitter about Korea?” Dan looked at the Prince.
“Well you did trap us in a dimensional vortex for, what, 40 years?” Æt shrugged.
“Some people just never forgive…. sheesh.” Dan lit a cigar “Well I should go, busy and all. The lump on the floor is for you.” He faded out of existence.
“OUCH!” Ætolus exclaimed as Robyn bit him.
“And don’t come back!” She spat.
“You bit me,” the prince looked at his hand.
“You where holding me from killing that scrap piece of sub-human goo.”
“I can’t believe you bit me,” he looked up. “It hurt.”
Nikki walked up to the lump while the two fought.
“Serves you right!”
Talon perked up between the two arguers, before it got physical… again. “You guys know Dan Choi?” He tried to get their attention.
“Bitten by my own bodyguard,” Ætolus shook his head like he was having a hard time believing it.
“Who you haven’t paid in how long?”
“You were on the payroll of the Government of Atlantis not myself personally. Just because the country’s under 30,000 tons of water doesn’t mean you can’t go talk to them about payment options.”
“Guys!” Duncan cleared his throat, with no response.
Nikki could be seen carrying the body upstairs, forgotten by the crowd.
“You can’t get out of it that easily, you little…”
“Whose little?” Ætolus peered down at her.
“GUYS!” Duncan and Ami demanded together.
The two stopped and looked at their spouses, then sheepishly said “Sorry” in unison.
Nikki came down stairs again, “I put him on the couch upstairs.”
“Who?” Fritters asked, clearing her head of the commotion.
“The boy that was knocked out by Talon’s cue ball,” she responded.
“Good job Tal!” Jay razzed.
“Sorry.” Tal looked genuinely apologetic.
“However, I think you guys should come take a look at our guest,” Nikki looked worried.
The entire crew climbed the stairs following Nikki, Robyn and Ætolus. When they reached the top of the stairs they wandered into Robyn’s office.
Peering down at the body, everyone gasped.
“Sweet Selune!”
“By the Green Eyed One.”
“Oh my”
“But that’s impossible!”
“So why does this guy look so much like Æt?” Jay peered over their shoulders.
Ætolus just looked up at Robyn, who knew what to do. “Okay everyone downstairs let him rest,” Robyn and Nikki began to herd the entire group known as the Psycho Six downstairs.
“Let him have some air!” Nikki stated and pushed again.
Once downstairs, Jay got brave and demanded, “Okay Robyn, spit it out. You know that kid, who is he?”
“And why does he look so much like Override?” Talon added.
“Yeah except for his red hair and the fact that he’s thinner, the two are practically identical” Jay ended.
Robyn gave a worried look at her clone, then sighed.
“Nikki confirmed what I suspected with a quick telepathic scan,” she gulped. “That young man upstairs, unconscious on my couch, with a bruise on his head…”
“I said I’m sorry!”
“…is the Crown Prince of Atlantis.”
There was a bit of confusion and murmuring when Ami said “But I thought Ætolus was the crown prince of Atlantis.”
“Yeah that’s what you two have been telling us for as long as I can remember” Vincent, a tall gothic man stated.
“You’re not going to tell us he’s a clone too….” Jay shook his head “are you?”
“No he’s not a clone,” Robyn glanced at Nikki then back at the group. “Everyone sit down for a bit, this could take a long time to explain.
